PURPOSE: to inject your veins/webservers with a little bit of fashion narcotics every Friday... Lets jump into it!

BOOTIE, BOOTIE, BOOTIE, BOOTIE ROCKIN EVERYWHERE
Its not time to put away those glossy toned legs just yet. Whether rockin' these cutie booties with a ultra short mini like SOL-ANGEL (see previous posts), or with a pair of "yes I'm still relevant" chic skinny jeans, a must in your closet are a pair of booties.

Featured here to the left are the L.A.M.B. Camden Booties(retail price $430, Damn GWEN!) but at AKIRA on North Ave (plug) you can get them for $399 plus a %15 discount from me HOLLA (frankie's voice). Also available in Black for you conformers.

For those daring alpha females out there whose not afraid of the platform we have the L.A.M.B. Hanshu Two Core Bootie here to the right, (retail price $415) and also available in green.

On that college "I'm broke, but ill be even more broke when the Direct Loan people come searching for their money" Budget? Well the BCBGirls line has got you covered. http://www.bcbgirls.com/fall2008/index.php
The Rauls and the Malaya are coming in a strong 1st and 2nd for their fall must haves on my list.
TIP 1: Do not shy away from open toe booties! You can create a whole different look when you accompany them with some fab tights or a fly pedicure.
TIP 2: Though vintage shops have gone a little "Commercial", try stopping in one just for kicks to see if you can find your very own treasured Pirate's BoOtiE.. eerrrhhh matie!
I like to call this segment ...THINGS I DO NOT WANT TO SEE CELEBRITIES ROCKIN NEXT WEEK!

And another one

So I stumbled across this track while perusing other sites when I'm supposed to be completing homework and researching grad school (f**k the future!)

Anywho, I pretty much hate Rihanna, but curosity made me listen to this cat-ass track. I don't like it. WTF is T.I. doing? I mean her style's fly, but her voice, her so-called "talent," sounds like a damn cat.

It's called "Living my Life," kinda like an inspirational track or something. And she sounds worse than ever...

But here it is. :)

New Music Tuesdays

So I figure I need something to inspire me to blog as often as possible since I've been wanting to do this for so long.

Of course, I will continue to post the newest videos of interest or debate but I will also begin to post new songs as I stumble across them.

I present... **drum roll please**

NEW MUSIC TUESDAYS

In honor of John Legend's recent video posting on my site (Green Light, check out his swag), I have new diddy for you...

"If You're Out There": it's a little stadium sounding to me and quite African-inspirational, like Lion King ish. So I'm not really feeling it, but here it is.

http://www.zshare.net/audio/176753195cd4336d/

Next up is the newest quotable song in hip hop

"Sagger Like Mine," by T.I. featuring (are you ready...) Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Little Wayne (his name ain't Bic but he keeps that flame).

In all respect, I thought this track would go just a teensy bit harder but, nonetheless, each rapper offers their usual "Facebook status"-worthy rhymes. Of course all these other artists make me forget about T.I., I'm sorry! But he's not really the one-liner guy, and all of these men are really. But ah well...

Here it is
swagger like us - t.i. ft kanye west, jay-z & lil wayne

Since 3 is the number of completion, here's one more for your eardrums.

She was the inspiration for the title of my blog and I definitely have to show here love. I have been listening to all kinds of Keri Hilson, basically anything I could find on Ares. This song is no exception, but I guess it looks like it's gonna be released to the public so your turn to enjoy it.

I'm not an R&B fan necessarily. Okay, I'll pretty much say I just like the good ish (i.e. no Pretty Ricky, Jagged Edge, etc.) and Keri is pretty much my fav right now.

This song is called "Slow Dance" and she sounds great and the groove of the song is nice too. ;) I hope you enjoy her as much as I do. I have a little crush on her too. Probably more than I have on Solange. Enjoy please and thank you.

Slow Dance - Keri Hilson

And one more thing about New Music Tuesdays... I went to Best Buy AND Target today to go BUY Solange like the responsible music lover I am and... NEITHER THE STORE HAD IT! W-T-F!!!

Now I have to download it and shit... damn!

OBAMA '08

I'm definitely a Barack Fanatic! And honestly, not because of his political stances, so sue me!

He has the best swagger of any would-be President, he is married to an intelligent and strong black woman, he has two beautiful daughters that you can tell are a major force in his life, and it doesn't help he's kinda fly to look at too.

So here's an excerpt from the end of Michelle Obama's speech at the first day of the Democratic National Convention.

I loved how he shouted her out like he was proud she had his last name. That's love!

Also, here's the opening to Michelle's Speech at the convention as told by her mother. It's beautiful.

New Ish...

Sorry for the delay, school is ruining my life.

I'm posting this video just because I can and because I love both artists on the song. Enjoy and I hope I won't stay away as long.

John Legend f. Andre3K "Green Light"

Now for a little tomfoolery for your day...

T-Pain f. Little Wayne "Can't Believe It." I had to post it, just because he's a fool. Enjoy it... or don't. I don't care. Cuz it particulary didn't like it, but T-Pain is like a car wreck, you wanna watch him but you hate what you see.

Baby Don't Blow Me Away

Took a little break... a thing called college interfered in my blogging. *sad face*

But now I'm biz-ack and I and have definitely been all up and through the other websites and have seriously developed a crush on Solange. Not like I like her, like her... but a crush on her personality and style and whatnot. Like she's the famous, curly weaved-out equivalent of myself.

She likes bright colors, taking chances in shoes (I love a good fugly shoe), short dresses and skirts (my fav wardrobe pieces) and just funky things and alternative lyrics n sounds n stuff.

So I decided to dedicate a blog to her. With a few videos and pictures that I enjoy of her.

First, her new video for "Sandcastle Disco," a song I have been listening to for so long that it is in my iPod's Top 25 Played list (to be discussed more in detail later). Love it... or hate it, but I love it and every outfit in it! :) I'm kinda disappointed that Q-Tip isn't in the video tho I dig both versions of the song.

Next up is an entertaining video from the DC Soul Stage Concert in which she performs "I Decided," another one of my favorites for the moment. It shows Solange performing her set as usual and then being interrupted by a fan but showing him much love. I love it.

I would rock this... but prob couldn't afford it even with my M.B.A.

<<<<<< I really like this look too :)

Okay, I'm officially done hanging on her proverbial nutsack. (Don't question my vocab choices, this is my shit!)

I hope you enjoy her as much as I do and plan to download her ENTIRE album as soon as it become available on Ares

Conspiracy?

Everyone that knows me knows that I believe in conspiracies and the like.

So, we are all we aware that the comedic genius Bernie Mac has left this Earth but Isaac Hayes has recently joined him. Both died of what appear to be natural causes.

Bernie appears to have passed from a recent battle with pneumonia with an already compromised immune system due to a previous illness.

Now Isaac Hayes has been found in home unconscious with the treadmill still running next to him. He was pronounced dead shortly after.

Normally, this would just be a freak occurrence, but both of them are set to start in an upcoming movie. Soul Men

Who else is set to star in this movie that seems set to have a curse attached to it..

SAM JACKSON!!!!

I hope this is all just freakish random happening otherwise Sam Jackson better be careful. Not to make light of death, but seriously, what is going on with this movie?

Marco Polo

Marco... Polo
Marco... Polo
Marco... Polo
Marco... Polo
Marco Polo Marco Polo Marco Polo Marco Polo Marco Polo Marco Polo

I stumbled across this story on hiphopdx.com, another one of my frequently visited sites. And one of the top MCs of the Year (check it out on MTV if you don't believe me), Soulja Boy Tell Em, is now claiming with a sudden increase in vocabulary and better lyrical content, he will be isolating his fan base...

I'll let that one simmer.

Anywho, he claims that he is indeed capable of doing so, he just wishes to hold off for a little bit since his fans wouldn't really get it. I guess he may be reiterating, in a less intelligent way the same sentiments Jay has made in "Moment of Clarity" stating:

"I dumbed down for my audience and doubled my dollas
They criticize me for it yet they all yell holla"
If skills sold truth be told, lyrically I'd be Talib Kweli
Truthfully I wanna rhyme like Common Sense, (I Did 5 Mil),
I ain't been rhyming like Common since"

I wouldn't call the King of Cranking It half as brilliant as Jay. Here's what the Teen of the Souf said:

""If I wanted to, [I could] go that route and be respected [not for] my success ... respected [for] my music and my lyrics or whatever."

But I guess until he steps his lyrical game up, we'll just have to deal with ill-fated collaborations with other self-proclaimed great artists like Bow Wow. So enjoy the tomfoolery.

"Last night ya girl forehead was on my abs"
PRICELESS!

I wonder what kinda shitty music my kids will get to listen to...

What the L?

I didn't expect to do another "What the L?" post so soon, but the devil is alive!

Reality TV is my not-so-secret obsession. I mean, I've probably given just about every reality tv show a chance, especially those with some sort of competition attached to it. It reflects the competitive side in the best of us.

Anywho, I'm watching MTV's America's Best Dance Crew after practice yesterday. Mind you, I logged on FB before I watched my DVR-recorded episode and EVERYONE already told me they were eliminated. But I thought, maybe they were watching an episode with a slight glitch in the Matrix and they swallowed the wrong colored pill...

I WAS WRONG! What the L? So like, I was thinking, while I was watching, that Fanny Pack must've just sucked really bad this episode and I know it was down to the final three. But nope, they killed it! As us-u-al!

So like, now I'm back to hating these unqualified judges (except the black guy that breaks and choreographs or something like that when not taping). They made such scathing (check the vocab) remarks about the other dance team, who I do like, Super Crew. So... why didn't Fanny Pack survive?

You eliminate the 80's themed team (after my own heart) on the 80's themed night. Is that possible?

So again, for Fanny Pack lovers or haters... What the L?!?!?

What the L?

Here is my first installment of

"What the L?"

What the L? is a saying developed on my recent trip to NYC. Due to the tiring demands of shopping for hours in SoHo (real SoHo, not South Holland, IL) and seeing many outlandish prices, my mind muddled words and phrases and instead of saying "What the F?" or "What the luck?" my usual expressions of puzzlement, it came out "What the L?"

So, it's now an official phrase currently exclusively used by me and Malia (to be guest blogging at a later date). Feel free to use it and share it freely if needbe.

Now on to the first installment...

Look to your right... who is that?

Hell, I didn't know at first glance. But that's supposed to be Beyonce. What the L?

Now we know she's of the fair-skinned type due to her her-i-tage and all but really, is she lighter than Mariah seriously? Like are we supposed to believe this ridiculousnesses. This picture has been floating around for a bit and I've heard Loreal has some 'splaining to do after all kinds of people started making prejudice claims and what not. I really don't care, this picture shouldn't even exist cuz we alllllll know Bey ain't this bright.

So again I ask... What the L?!?!?!

Oldie but Goodie

This was posted a while back on Facebook notes, blogging for pussies. I was one of em not too long ago but I have since graduated to this site, but I decided to share this on my new blog since it received a few comments on Facebook. Enjoy it.

I, like many others, was duped into watching The Bet Awards. I'm a fan of all things entertainment, but I don't know about these this year...

So I have come up with my 20 questions for The Bet Awards.

My 20 Questions for the 2008 BET Awards

1. Was Usher's performance not the WACKEST performance of the night?

2. Did he really think it was okay to lip sync?

3. Didn't Alicia Keys make you miss 90s music just a bit?

4. And why did Neyo and Chris Breezy upstage Usher???

5. Where was Jay and B?

6. And with all the commercials during the breaks, is Baldwin Hills real or fake?

7. Didn't it seem like there were more performances than awards?

8. Who let Frankie out of the house?

9. And who thought it would be a good idea to give her and Neffie a mic?

10. Speaking of mics, was it just me or were they all EXTRA low the entire show?

11. Where was Andre 3K?

12. Wasn't Soulja Boy's "Yuuuuulle" joke about voting the funniest of all the at the mic jokery?

13. Where did Maxwell come from?

14. And can he stay for a little while? :)

15. And didn't he just about out sing everyone!?!?!?

16. Was that leather suit Terrence had on while presenting the Viewer's Choice Award?

17. Didn't Rihanna favor Prince during her performance?

18. Isn't Alicia Keys looking better and better every time we see her?

19. There were rumors that Usher, B, and Weezy were gonna hit the stage to perform Love in this Club 2. Wouldn't that have been genius?

20. Wasn't the theme of T-Pain's performance just PERFECT for him?

Okay... one more... Didn't Weezy just kill the show with his closing performance???

Good Eats!!

I found a new snack.

Uh oh

Uh oh
Uh oh
Uh oh (gotta say it like Hammer)

So during my near daily trip to the slaveship called Wal-Mart (I try to leave, but they keep rolling back the prices!), I stumbled across a new snack next to the "express' checkout line.

I was in Wal-Mart getting a phone charger since I left mine after the tornado hit SoHo, IL. Of course I planned to return it once I got mine, that's the Wal-Mart way. Anywho, I was minding my own when this display for "Taste of America" potato chips called my name. There was plethora of flavor choices all supposed to be reminiscent of flavor profiles distinct to various regions of the U.S. Considering my love of all things ranch, the Sante Fe Ranch caught my eye. The bag was labeled $3.79 but of course the smiley face rolled back the price to a mere $2.88. I had to get them.

I was buying a charger, so I didn't have my Link card ready (free food for college students) so I actually paid for these. And guess what... I'm hooked! They are supposed to be limited time only so get em while you can. They're a flavorful burst of a red-ranchy flavor which reminds me of the limited edition Loaded Baked Potato Ruffles from my adolescent years. Delicious! Especially with my crack in a can, Cherry Coke.

Try em and enjoy.

And don't let the picture fool you, the bag is a light turquoise.

Do You Have Any Black Inside You?

Would you like some?

The video for N.E.R.D.'s "Everyone NOSE" Remix.

Gotta love it!

Okay, one more video...
Jay and Yeezy performing a rumored track from the fake album "The Blueprint 3"
(only because I really don't think he's gonna name an album smtg-smtg the third)

I'm digging the song tho

THANK MALIA for the Jay video

And So It Begins...

So I have been contemplating starting a blog for a while now. My daily routine consists of reading at least three blogs every morning. They do entertain, but I feel like they are missing something. What? I'm really not sure.

So I'm here to fill in the blanks. Most of the blogs I visit are entertainment driven, which is my ultimate passion, but I do find other things relevant to discuss as well and hopefully I'll delve into these things here.

This is a new frontier so be patient while I try to find my blogging identity. It truly may end up just being a hodge-podge of everything that interests me which means it may be the most random thing you will ever experience. :)

So on that note... I begin. Enjoy if you please.
